Minister of Industry Allan Rock will join Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Astronaut Dr. Bob Thirsk and Dr. Mike Dixon from the University of Guelph, in a special announcement about “Tomatosphere,” a national educational outreach program sponsored by The Canadian Space Agency, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Heinz Canada, the Centre for Research in Earth and Space Technology (CRESTech), and the University of Guelph. Following the announcement Drs. Thirsk and Dixon will conduct a presentation on the topic of “Mission to Mars” highlighting life support requirements.

Canadian Drilling Technology for Mars Exploration Canadian Space Agency
The Northern Centre for Advanced Technology Inc. (NORCAT), has developed a prototype drill for potential use on a future Mars mission as part of a feasibility study done for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). Raymond Bonin, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt and Diane Marleau, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, will join Canadian Space Agency President Marc Garneau and NORCAT Executive Director and CEO Darryl Lake for a demonstration of the Mars drilling technology.
