National Space Society Executive Director Brian Chase issued the following statement following today’s release of the final report of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB): The National Space Society urges NASA to embrace the recommendations of the CAIB and work diligently to fundamentally reform its decision-making processes and safety organizations so that we can safely return the Space Shuttle fleet to service.

The National Space Society has produced an educational supplement for MISSION TO MARS, about the first human missions to Mars. The new movie from Touchstone Pictures opens nationwide, March 10. The NSS supplement, which will be included in 35 newspapers and magazines nationwide during the coming week, is designed to provide background on the movie and factual information about Mars exploration.
