Thirty years ago, Edgar Mitchell walked on the moon as a member of the Apollo 14 lunar mission. Now he envisions space travel extending beyond Earth’s solar system before the 22nd century arrives. “Going to Mars, in my opinion, will be a turning point when we really get our act together and are ready to go as an Earth civilization,” Mitchell said.
