We are approaching the thirtieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, which took place on July 20, 1969. The accomplishment of the first human landing on the Moon, in just eight years from program start, was a great feat, and certainly worthy of remembrance and celebration. But it is sad that we have no accomplishments of comparable magnitude to honor in the thirty years since.
