Time is running out to get NASA’s second Mars Exploration Rover on its way to the Red Planet. Launch of the rover Opportunity has slipped again, this time to no earlier than Sunday, July 6. Liftoff would take place at either 10:43:16 or 11:26:02 p.m. EDT (0243.16 or 0326.02 GMT). That leaves just nine days to send the robot probe on its way or face a minimum four-year wait for Earth and Mars to properly align again. Opportunity’s twin probe, Spirit, was sent on its way on June 10.
