WE’LL have landed on Mars by the year 2023. That was the prediction from one of Russia’s most influential and respected spacemen during a visit to Huddersfield. Alexander Martynov gave two 90-minute presentations at Huddersfield University. They were based on his experiences with the Mir Space Station and the technology required for a manned mission to Mars. Now he is researching the possibility of landing cosmonauts on Mars.
